The Crops & Acres area on a Client profile records the Client's crops, acreage, estimated production, and remaining share by crop year. Crops & Acres is available to all grain partners in the Team Hub.
Crops & Acres is only available in the Team Hub. Clients cannot view or update this information in the Customer Portal. Anyone with access to a Client in the Team Hub can update the Client's Crops & Acres information.
Viewing Crops & Acres
Open a Client profile in the Team Hub and go to the Crops card.
Use the Year selector at the top of the card to select a crop year. The selector includes the past four years, the current year, and the next two upcoming years.
One year is displayed at a time. Crop information is saved for each year separately and does not carry over from one year to the next. Crops must be added again for each new crop year.
For the selected year, each crop row can show:
- Crop — The crop name.
- Acres — The number of acres planted.
- Production — Estimated production based on Acres and Yield per Acre.
- Grain Contracted — Bushels contracted for the crop's commodity within the selected crop year.
- Other Markets — Bushels sold or expected to be sold outside your organization.
- Share Remaining — The estimated percentage of production that remains available to sell.
Updating Crops & Acres
Anyone with access to the Client can update Crops & Acres.
To update crop information:
- Open the Edit Crops modal from the Crops card.
- Select the year you want to update.
- Add the crops the Client is growing for that year.
- Enter Acres and Yield per Acre (bu/ac) for each crop.
- Enter Other Markets bushels, if applicable.
- Delete any crops the Client no longer grows.
- Save your changes.
Production is calculated automatically and cannot be edited.
Crops do not carry over between years. When entering information for a new crop year, add the applicable crops and crop information for that year.
The list of available crops is configured for your platform. To request a change to the available crops, contact the Partner Experience Team at help@agvend.com.
Production and Share Remaining Calculations
Production and Share Remaining are calculated automatically using the Client's crop information.
- Production = Acres × Yield per Acre
- Share Remaining (bushels) = Production − Grain Contracted − Other Markets
- Share Remaining (%) = (Production − Grain Contracted − Other Markets) ÷ Production × 100
Share Remaining percentage is calculated only when Production is greater than zero.
When Acres or Yield per Acre changes, Production and Share Remaining recalculate immediately.
The Share Remaining progress bar is color-coded:
- Green: Below 25%
- Yellow: 25%–74%
- Red: 75%–100%
Grain Contracted
Grain Contracted is calculated from the Client's grain contracts and is not entered manually in Crops & Acres.
Crops are configured independently from the grain commodities your organization contracts. This allows you to track crops that are not grain commodities, such as grapes or alfalfa.
When a crop corresponds to a grain commodity your organization contracts, the Crops card displays Grain Contracted, Other Markets, and Share Remaining for that crop. If the crop does not correspond to a grain commodity your organization contracts, those fields display a dash (—), and the crop's Acres and Production can still be tracked.
Other Markets
Use Other Markets for grain sold outside your organization. This can include grain the Client has already sold elsewhere and grain the Client plans to sell elsewhere.
Other Markets bushels are subtracted from Production when calculating Share Remaining.
Filtering Clients by Crop Data
Crops & Acres data is available in Advanced Filters on the Clients and Marketing tabs.
Available filters include:
- Crop Year
- Crop
- Acres
- Production
- Share Remaining
For example, you can filter for Clients growing more than 500 acres of corn or Clients with a high Share Remaining.
Crops & Acres Without a Grain Business Unit
If your organization does not have a Grain Business Unit, the Crops card displays only:
- Crop
- Acres
- Production
Grain Contracted, Other Markets, and Share Remaining are not displayed.
