Utilize Custom Profiles for a tailored approach to gathering additional customer information.
Primary Audience: Admins
Custom Profiles allow your team to capture and manage customer information that is not available through your ERP. Information entered into a Custom Profile is stored on the Client account and can be viewed by internal users whenever needed. This information is easily accessible from each individual Client Profile, facilitating efficient tracking of vital business details.
Creating Custom Profiles
Follow these steps to create a new Custom Profile:
- Navigate to the Admin page and click on the Custom Profiles tab.
- Click the "New Custom Profile" button located in the upper right corner.
- Name your Custom Profile and choose whether it should display as a link on the Client Summary page.
- Add Data Fields by clicking the "Add Data Field" button in the upper right corner.
- Enter a field name, select the appropriate field type, and add selectable options when required. For example, use a Single Select field for a customer's primary operation type or a Multiple Select field when customers may belong to several categories.
- Available Data Fields:
- Multiple Select
- Single Select
- Text Input
- Number
- Date
- Available Data Fields:
- Save the Custom Data Field and repeat the process to build out the Custom Profile as needed
- Reference the image below as an example of building out Data Fields within a Custom Profile to capture relevant customer information.
- Note: You can rearrange Data Fields by clicking the draggable icon to the left of the Data Field name (highlighted in red below).
7. If any adjustments need to be made to a pre-existing custom profile, you can manage those from the same workflow as above. Once you find the custom profile you want to make edits on, you will click on to the specific custom profile and click the gear icon in the top right corner to change the name or click into one of the field types and make adjustments.
Accessing Custom Profiles
After a Custom Profile is created, internal users can view and update the profile directly from the Client account. There are three places on the Client Profile where the Custom Profile can be accessed:
- Via the Client Info Widget on the left panel of the Client Summary page.
- The Custom Profiles widget (if the "Show on Client Summary" checkbox is selected in the Custom Profile).
- By navigating to the Client Profile page through the Summary drop-down and clicking on the Custom Profiles tab.
Example use cases for Custom Profiles include:
- Tracking On Farm storage
- Recording the number of livestock (e.g., pigs, cattle)
- Noting states where farm operations are conducted
- Keeping records of customer birthdays and anniversaries
