Use Spotlight to Track Customer Activity
Primary Audience: Administrators, Salespeople
Spotlight helps internal teams identify which customers are actively engaging with the Customer Portal. By tracking customer activity like product searches, quote requests, and grain offers, your team can have more informed and timely customer conversations.
Salespeople can only view activity for their assigned customers.
Note: Customer activity is visible to internal users to support better service and engagement.
Where to Find Spotlight
You can access Spotlight in two places within the Team Hub:
Dashboard
Use the Spotlight widget on the Dashboard to quickly view recent customer engagement.
Clients Tab > Spotlight
Use the Spotlight page for a more detailed and filterable view of customer activity.
View Customer Activity from the Dashboard
The Spotlight widget on the Dashboard displays recently active customers and highlights engagement happening within the Customer Portal.
Click the icons next to a customer’s name to view:
- The activity type
- The date the activity occurred
- Additional activity details
Spotlight activity may include:
- Product searches
- Quote requests
- Grain offers
- Other customer engagement activity
To open the full Spotlight page, click See All Engagement.
Use the Spotlight Page
The Spotlight page provides a more detailed view of customer engagement activity across your organization.
From this page, you can:
- Search for a specific customer
- Filter activity to find relevant insights
- View engagement across business units
- Identify opportunities for customer follow-up
Filter Customer Activity
Use filters to narrow down activity and focus on the most relevant customer interactions.
Available filters include:
- Time Range
- Location
- Salesperson
- Activity Type
You can combine filters to refine your results.
Example Use Case
A salesperson wants to identify which products their customers are actively researching.
To do this, they can:
- Open the Spotlight page
- Filter by their name under Salesperson
- Select Product Searches under Activity Type
This allows the salesperson to quickly identify customer interest and follow up with relevant recommendations or conversations.
