Audience: Marketing Specialist
Marketing banners allow you to promote campaigns and customize the Customer Portal homepage with high-visibility messaging. These banners appear at the top of the homepage, giving you a high-visibility way to highlight important messages, seasonal promotions or announcements. This guide will help you easily create and upload high-quality banner images using a few simple best practices.
How to Create a Marketing Banner?
To access the Banner builder:
- Go to the Marketing tab in the Team Hub
- Click Banners in the top navigation menu
From here, you can create and manage your banners.
Who will see my banner?
You can control who sees each banner by targeting specific groups of customers using:
- Client lists
- Customer location
- Business Units
- Tags
Note: If a customer qualifies for multiple active banners, one banner will be shown at random each time they start a new session.
What images sizes should I use for banners?
To ensure your banners display properly across all devices, please use the following image specifications:
Desktop Image
- Maximum file size: 1 MB (1000 KB)
- Dimensions: 3600 × 800 px
Tablet Image
- Maximum file size: 400 KB
- Dimensions: 2298 × 534 px
Mobile Image
- Maximum file size: 256 KB
- Dimensions: 800 × 460 px
Large Monitor Image (Optional)
- Maximum file size: 1 MB (1000 KB)
- Dimensions: 3456 × 600 px
How should I design my banner images?
For best results, we recommend using a design tool such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop and creating a separate file for each banner size. Use the Canva templates below to quickly create correctly sized banners:
Designing each size individually ensures your content displays correctly and avoids unexpected cropping or scaling issues.
Export & Upload Tips
When you’re ready to upload your banner images:
-
Download each image as a JPG to help keep file sizes within the required limits without sacrificing quality.
- Many partners default to PNG files, but these files are often too large for banner images.
-
In Canva, it’s best practice to limit the quality of your images to 80 or less as you prepare to download the image.
- If using Adobe products, export in RGB color mode (not CMYK) to ensure proper color display on screen. “Saving for web” or “exporting as a JPG” can also be helpful to make the upload process easier.
Following these steps will help ensure a smooth upload experience within the AgVend platform.
