A guide for effectively utilizing Business Intel Data Sets when creating Goals.
Primary Audience: All Internal Users
After selecting a Business Intelligence goal type, you can use Data Set filters to control exactly what the goal measures. These filters allow you to track specific products, locations, salespeople, customers, and more. The available filters vary depending on the goal type you choose.
Item Filters by Goal Type
Item filters determine which products or items count toward the goal. Select an item filter first — if you choose Product - Specific Package or Base Product - All Packages, additional sub-filters become available to narrow further.

Choosing the Right Filters
Item Filters and Account Filters can be combined to create highly targeted goals.
For example, you can create a goal that:
- Tracks Seed products only
- Includes multiple Manufacturers
- Measures sales from specific Locations
- Excludes selected products
- Applies only to tagged customer accounts
Selecting the appropriate combination of filters ensures your Business Intelligence goal measures exactly the data you want to track.
